Video Advertisement
Process
I did a lot of social media posts during the time I worked at Exit Burnaby, an escape room franchise, One ad was an animated. I was asked to do this by management while I had nothing else to do at work. I was given some general guidelines but I essentially drafted the entire thing myself. It talks about the different themes of the rooms, as well as safety measures taking course during the Covid-19 Pandemic

The animation is made in Adobe After Effects. I also used a software called Lightworks, which is an open source version of After effects. In this software I organized video animation and synchronized it to recorded voice overs, while adding visual and audio special effects.

I did this animation entirely myself. I did all of the scripting, images, animation, and voice acting. A lot of these such as voice acting and image creation were not things I had experience with prior and learned on the fly what to do.

In addition to the larger animated advertisement, I made many different graphic ads over my time at Exit Burnaby which were posted on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. I tried to keep the art style varied so that each image would be interesting to look at and different styles could get different people’s attentions






Reflection
I am proud of the work I did at Exit. The video advertisement I am especially prout of as I have never really done animation before. I also really found some passion for doing video editing and have been doing some videos on a personal Youtube channel of my own. If you would like to watch the video, it is on the left
